Jelly Roll Trades Mic for Medkit! See His ‘Fire Country’ Acting Debut

Jelly Roll is making his acting debut with an important role alongside Max Thieriot and Billy Burke on CBS’ hit series Fire Country.

In Us Weekly‘s exclusive first look at the April 11 episode, Jelly Roll, 40, makes an appearance as Noah, a healthcare worker and former convict who’s in the process of turning his life around. The official synopsis teases a ski resort accident after a chair lift malfunction while Burke’s Vince struggles in his personal life with his ailing father.

Jelly Roll’s Noah, meanwhile, lost his mother while in prison and wasn’t able to say goodbye in person, according to the character description, which adds, “Now, he works with patients like his mom, and their loved ones who struggle with saying their own goodbyes.”

Most Memorable ‘Fire Country’ Guest Stars Over the Years: From Kane Brown to Jared Padalecki

Fire Country, which premiered in 2022, follows Bode (Thieriot) as he gets a chance to shorten his prison sentence by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program. Bode gets assigned to his hometown where he reconnects with his family and former friends as he continues to make attempts to redeem himself.

Three seasons in and Fire Country has found unique ways to incorporate familiar faces. During the first season, Kane Brown made an appearance as a train hopper named Robin. After a train collided with a party bus, Robin helped the Three Rock crew evacuate the victims and handed Bode a bag full of cash before the police arrived.

There was also Morena Baccarin, who went from a one-episode arc as Sharon’s (Diane Farr) step-sister to scoring her own spinoff titled Sheriff Country. Jared Padalecki is another star-studded cast member who played a SoCal firefighter captain Camden (and who could also get his own spinoff, according to reports).

Thieriot, 36, previously spoke to Us about getting to film scenes with more people and in more locations after Bode got an early release from prison.

“In a lot of ways, season 3 is so new for me because I’ve been able to act in all these spaces and interact with so many different characters on the show. It was fairly limited before [because of Bode’s incarceration],” Thieriot told Us in October 2024. “This season is really about Bode trying to accomplish [his legacy as a firefighter] and what the hurdles are that are in his way and what obstacles he might face along the way.”

He continued: “There’s also just the dynamics of a lot of different relationships that he’s involved with now that he is outside. There are none of the restrictions of camp or prison; it is just what happens to this guy now that he’s free.”
