Jared Padalecki’s new Fire Country season 3 character
gets more details from showrunner Tia Napolitano.
There will be several changes to the CBS procedural when
it returns this fall. The Fire Country season 2 finale set up the majority of these new plots, including Bode’s future. One thing, however, that the hit series wasn’t able to foreshadow is the upcoming arrival of Padalecki as a new character named Camden Casey. On the heels of his stint in Walker, the former Supernatural lead is joining Fire Country as a recurring character who may eventually spearhead his own spinoff.
In a new interview with TV Line, Napolitano shares additional details about Padalecki’s Camden. Described as “a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Thieriot) raw talent.” The actor will be in the show for just three episodes, but she reveals that he will have a big impact on Edgewater. Read her full quote below:We were so excited about casting Jared, and he’s really going to ‘flip the script’ in Edgewater. Everyone sort of treats Bode (Max Thieriot) as this tiger they’re trying to tame, and Camden kind of says, ‘Why are you trying to tame a tiger? It will be curious to see how his chemistry with the main cast will be, as that could spell any future appearances for them. Beyond that, it will be exciting to see him in Morena Baccarin’s own Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country, before potentially leading his own expansion series in the future.
