Joe sets his plan to steal Caleb’s kidney into motion….and some Emmerdale fans are rooting for him

This week’s Emmerdale saw Joe Tate put into motion his plan to steal uncle Caleb’s kidney. A very sick man in need of an organ transplant, Joe is running out of time, and is determined to source a new kidney from one of his remaining family members.

His attempt to steal Noah’s kidney might have been a bust (and one which got three people killed, at that), Joe nevertheless persevered, and decided to pinch one from his uncle instead. Manipulating Manpreet into getting a sample from Caleb, Joe confirmed that Caleb was a match, putting him in severe danger.

A dastardly plan indeed. However, not all fans are worried about Caleb.

Emmerdale fans root for Joe as he plots to steal Caleb’s kidney

Writing on X last night, fans shared their thoughts on Joe’s plan. And some were rooting for Joe… or at the very least, rooting against Caleb.

“Caleb the jumped up little troll is going to get burned, Joe Tate is my hero,” wrote one fan.

“I’m so here for Joseph Tate bringing Caleb down,” said another.

“Go and get him Joe take down that [expletive] of a man Caleb,” a third said.

Vicious stuff, but between cheating on Ruby with his own nephew’s wife, and his general history of lying and manipulation, there’s a growing legion of viewers who’d quite like to be rid of Caleb.

Caleb flatlining in Emmerdale flash-forward scene

Will Caleb die as he flatlines in flash-forward?

Earlier this year, a series of flash-forwards depicted several villagers in serious trouble. One has already played out – Amy’s hand banging on the ice prior to her death – but more remain.

In addition to Mack running through the woods and Cain weeping at a mystery grave, these flash-forwards also spelled danger for Caleb. With one depicting him flatlining on a hospital bed, it suggests that Joe may well succeed in getting Caleb under the knife.

The soap hasn’t yet revealed whether William Ash is set to leave the soap but, one way or the other, Caleb’s life will be left hanging in the balance.
