Sheriff Country – A Fire Country Spinoff Set to Premiere in Fall 2025

CBS has confirmed that Sheriff Country, the highly anticipated spinoff of its hit drama Fire Country, is set to premiere in the fall of 2025. The new series will shift focus from firefighting and rehabilitation to rural law enforcement, offering a deeper look into the justice system in small-town California.

At the center of Sheriff Country is Sheriff Mickey Fox, portrayed by Morena Baccarin (HomelandDeadpool). The character made her first appearance in Fire Country Season 3, quickly capturing audience attention with her no-nonsense leadership style and a mysterious personal history. Described as tough, principled, and fiercely protective of her community, Mickey Fox now takes the spotlight in a story that blends crime, drama, and moral complexity.

Set in the same universe as Fire Country, the new series will explore how the sheriff’s department operates in the same wildfire-prone region, but through the lens of law enforcement. The narrative will dive into criminal investigations, local conflicts, political pressures, and the weight of authority in a place where the lines between right and wrong aren’t always clear.

According to CBS, Sheriff Country will retain the emotional intensity and high-stakes storytelling that made Fire Country a success, while offering a fresh perspective on the themes of justice, duty, and personal redemption. The show is expected to feature crossover appearances from characters in Fire Country, allowing fans to see familiar faces in new roles and relationships.

Production is currently underway, with the series set to debut as part of CBS’s fall 2025 lineup. Fans of Fire Country can expect the same gripping drama and strong character development, now expanded into a broader storytelling universe where not only fire, but law, shapes the fate of a community.
