This week, a flashback scene aired that confirmed the local GP has been hiding a secret from her friends in the village. It was Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) who discovered Manpreet’s secret when she spotted pictures on her computer.
After Manpreet attended Leyla and Amy’s (Natalie Ann Jamieson) wake at the pub, she received a concerning text from someone unknown, which confirmed a member of the village knows what she’s been up to.
It was yesterday’s episode that allowed us to learn a little more about Manpreet’s side-hustle.
She told friend Ella (Paula Lane) that she started posting pictures of herself on social media after finding Charles (Kevin Mathurin) and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) together. Manpreet wanted a confidence boost, but then made a leap onto a private site, similar to OnlyFans.
She started posting intimate photographs for money, but someone who was viewing the images is now using them to their advantage, telling Manpreet that if she doesn’t follow their orders, everyone in Emmerdale will find out what she’s been doing.
In this new video, Ella approaches Manpreet and reminds her that continuously checking her device isn’t helpful.
Ella suggests reporting the blackmailer to the police, but Manpreet believes it would wind the culprit up and potentially have her pictures outed.
Her phone then pings with another text. The message confirms the person is watching Ella and Manpreet sitting on the bench, which leaves them both horrified.
Manpreet jumps from her seat and looks around, but she isn’t able to see anyone.
