We’re days away from John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) wedding to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) in Emmerdale, which means the risk of his secrets being exposed is higher than ever before.
In Metro’s latest episode guide for the ITV soap, we reveal what’s ahead next week as a paranoid John gets two pieces of game-changing news.
There is also an opportunity for Ross Barton (Michael Parr) to get to know his new brother a bit more, and a worried Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) keeps a health development from her family.
Here’s everything you need to know about each episode of Emmerdale airing next week.

After drinking contaminated water, Vic’s (Isabel Hodgins) son Harry remains at the hospital and Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) is consumed with guilt.
Meanwhile, Moira (Natalie J Robb) learns that her insurance company is refusing to cover the slurry spill, due to it technically being reckless behaviour. Fearful for her future, Moira wonders if this marks the end to Butlers farm.
Back at the hospital, John struggles with seeing Harry and technically being responsible for putting him there. He finds a distraction when Mack breaks down in his arms though, as he continues to let him take the blame for it.
Ross initially ignores Lewis’ latest attempt to meet him, but they later getting chatting in the café. As Lewis starts to ask Ross about his family history, he asks to meet Moira, leaving Ross unsure.
Elsewhere, Sarah hides the fact she’s off to the fertility clinic tomorrow, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) catastrophises about the village water supply, and Charity (Emma Atkins) tells her the situation has left Mack a broken man.

Ross arrives with Lewis to see Moira, but he’s timed things badly. She is consumed with stress about the farm, and struggles to process the fact the son of a woman she killed is standing outside.
Just as Lewis enters, Moira buckles under the weight of the painful memories that have resurfaced.
At the clinic, despite the doctor’s concerns, Sarah continues to push her idea with wanting a baby through IVF. Back home with Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), it’s clear that Sarah’s determined to keep this venture a secret from her family.
At the hospital, John bumps into a woman called Cathleen, who assumes he’s been notified about the development regarding Aidan. She begs for John to accompany her to see him on his ward and he does so, but he’s incredibly anxious.
As John arrives, his name is mentioned and to his shock, Aidan’s eyes spring open.
Elsewhere, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) gets talking to Tracy (Amy Walsh) about Nate’s (Jurell Carter) disappearance, Mack tries to make amends, and Nicola announces that she’s found an emergency water supply for the village.

John feels overwhelmed after the news about Aidan and must wait to see how much he can remember about their shared past. Later though, he feels hopeful as he gets word that Aidan is non verbal, and Harry can go home tomorrow.
However, unbeknownst to him, Belle has started digging into the mysterious case of Nate Robinson…
Back at the clinic, Sarah has a scan but Doctor Knapp reveals some worrying news after – she has found some inflammation. Sarah fears the worst but when she gets home, she fails to tell anyone about the appointment.
Also in the village, Ross’ ears prick up when he learns that Lewis is growing weed, and Moira wonders if she should quit farm life, as the financial troubles post-slurry spill are so worrying.

With Mack ostracised by Moira, he backs out of being Aaron’s best man for the wedding. Seeing how gutted Aaron is by the news, John decides he’s the man who can fix things.
As this goes on, Ross acquires a few cannabis plants from Lewis and heads up to the farm where Mack finds him lurking around. Soon enough, Mack is sworn to secrecy over Ross’ plan as they both realise they have a sneaky way of covering the farm’s fines.
At the Dingle household, Belle tells Sam (James Hooton) that Nate never got to his job in Shetland and decides to get to the bottom of his disappearance, unaware John is experiencing another flashback of Nate’s dead body.
Later in the day, Sarah attempts to talk to Cain and Charity (Emma Atkins) about her trip to the clinic but they’re both distracted and busy. It leaves her to slip away to her hospital appointment alone, facing her potential cancer diagnosis with no one around.
Friday, May 23

As the week ends, Sarah is waiting for the result of her biopsy, while Mack and Ross realise they don’t have enough cannabis plants, so Mack comes up with a solution.
Also, Cain struggles to digest the information that Nate never made it to Shetland.
Once John gets word of what Belle knows, he does his best to stop her from reporting Nate as a missing person.
Belle reluctantly agrees not to get the police involved and decides to put Nate to the back of her mind and focus on the wedding. However, just as things seem to be back on track, John panics when he overhears Moira telling Cain that the water company has to dredge the lake.
Meanwhile, at the lake, Nate’s arm looms beneath the surface, waiting to be found…
