EastEnders fans are claiming that one of the show’s villains is ‘iconic’ after a shocking affair twist ‘gave them life’ in the latest episode of the programme.

The BBC soap is not currently shy on villains with Nicola Mitchell covering up a murder and Ross Marshall going to desperate lengths to protect his teenage son.

However, one baddie who never fails to entertain on Albert Square is Cindy Beale, who made the most of a secret she stumbled upon.

Cindy returned to the programme earlier in the month after being bribed by Ian Beale to leave unless she wanted the police to know she caused the Queen Vic explosion back in February.

Initially trying to show that she’s changed her ways, the Beales still wanted her out of their lives even after she helped Lauren Branning give birth last week.

Putting Kathy Beale at the top of her enemy list after her former mother in law attacked her with a shovel on Christmas Day, Cindy couldn’t believe the results spying on her delivered.

Keeping an eye on Kathy waiting for her to slip up, Cindy saw and recorded her sharing a kiss with Harvey Monroe, who is in a relationship with Jean Slater.

In scenes that aired on Wednesday (May 14), Ian and Kathy excitedly prepared for baby Jimmy’s welcome home party.

Wasting no time at using her trump card after Kathy tried to warn her off, Cindy played the video of Kathy and Harvey kissing during his and Jean’s engagement announcement for all to see.

If that wasn’t enough for Cindy, she proudly revealed herself as the new owner of Walford’s gay bar The Prince Albert, which was previously owned by Kathy.

Those watching the episode at home couldn’t get enough of the drama as they raced to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on Cindy’s latest antics.

With Cindy now fronting the popular business, it’s unsure just what direction Cindy’s plans to ruin her family’s happiness will take her, but it’s certainly going to be entertaining.
