IAN Beale is hiding a shocking secret from his family in EastEnders – but he’s about
to be exposed. The character – played by Adam Woodyatt – returned to Albert Square
alongside former ex-wife Cindy Beale last year, much to fans’ surprise. Since his
return, Ian and Cindy have set up new business Beale’s Eels, and he But in upcoming EastEnders scenes, Ian’s behaviour catches the attention of his family. The scenes see Ian anxiously checking his phone before snapping at Anna when she tries to talk to him about Bobby’s 21st birthday. Anna gets Freddie to help him sound Bobby out on ideas, but he rumbles them and tells them he doesn’t want a fuss. His brother Peter also tries to talk to Bobby about his birthday, but Bobby explains he’s in no mood to celebrate. Meanwhile, Peter is suspicious when Ian acts weirdly about Bobby’s birthday and lies about where he’ll be the following day.
Cindy and Peter try to get to the bottom of Ian’s deceit, and he tells them he’s thinking of running for the council again. Later, Ian heads off to his council meeting, but Peter remains suspicious. Cindy isn’t happy when Ian says he’s attending a leadership course in Manchester, but she can’t go with him. However, Peter reveals that he checked with the council and knows Ian is lying. Peter demands to know what’s really going on with Ian. Will he get to the bottom of what his dad is up to?
