Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve figured out what Joe Tate is hiding in a black case amid his mysterious dark secret.
On Thursday night’s episode, a frustrated Joe was seen calling a mystery person as he fumed: “It isn’t working! You know what! Well if I could fix it, I would have done it by now wouldn’t I? I know, I know! It needs to be sooner than that, please try, thank you!” to which he kicked a black case under his bed.
However, later in the episode, soap watchers finally met his mystery doctor after Joe collapsed, where he received treatment at Home Farm in his room.
After taking care of Joe, the doctor pointed at the black case in the room and warned: “That, my friend, is not a long term plan!” to which Joe snapped: “I know, the long term plan we do have needs to hurry up, I’m not sure how much time I’ve got left!”
Soap watchers will recall that ever since Joe returned to the village over Christmas, he has been seen collapsing and taking medication while keeping it a secret from those around him.
It comes as Joe recently spiked his younger brother Noah Dingle, where it seemed tests were being carried out in a hospital setting, with a confused Noah traumatised by the incident as he doesn’t remember what happened or where he was although he’s been having chilling flashbacks.
Soap watchers think that Joe needs a donor and he was going to use brother Noah’s organs as they figured out what the black case is being used for.
Taking to Reddit, one person said: “So we know Joe is hiding something and it seems to be something health related, and then there’s the mystery plan for Noah after the flashback with the doctor.
“I watched Thursday’s episode and was surprised that we finally saw who the doctor was after Joe collapsed, but also there were so many hints about what was in the black case or box and what was wrong with Joe while nothing confirmed. What do people think is in that case? And what do we think is wrong with Joe? What is he and the doctor planning? It has to be medical related surely, and something that means he’s running out of time.”
To which a different account replied: “I think it’s some kind of dialysis kit in that box. He’s probably got kidney failure and is after one of Noah’s. Plus soaps seem to mirror one another’s storylines ie Carla in corrie with her transplant storyline” while another put: “I’m guessing he’s looking to harvest an organ. Had Noah sedated and tested to see if he’s a match. Didn’t outright ask because it’s an organ that, should it be taken, Noah will die.”
