Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans have pointed out a potential blunder made by returning “bad boy” Joe Tate in the latest episode.
During Wednesday (January 8) night’s episode, viewers watched the aftermath of Dawn Taylor accusing Kim Tate of murdering her father Will Taylor after she uncovered a video of Will who said: “I hope this means that you’re (Dawn) watching and not someone else. But, if you are… Then that means I’m dead. It also means that Kim did it.”
Amongst all the drama and chaos, however, it was Joe Tate who caught the attention of some fans as they watched the episode unfold.
Joe Tate returned to the Dales six years after he left in a savage exit. Ahead of the festive season, actor Ned Porteous reprised his role as Joe and revealed himself to be the mystery figure who’s been calling the shots when it comes to Pete and Will’s take down of Kim Tate.
Viewers had assumed Joe was dead back in 2018 as he was last spotted after he hit his head on a rock after being punched by Cain Dingle. A few years on he was briefly mentioned as still being alive, however, he wasn’t seen back in the village until recently.
Speaking of his return, Ned teased: “Joe has always been a character with a dark side, but there could be something much bigger at play here. Joe is back for a reason, and the devastation at Home Farm is just the beginning of a much bigger story.”
It wasn’t his villainous plans, or covert revenge tactics that drew viewers attention, however, it was a potential blunder where fans believe he misread his lines.
Fans noticed that when Joe spoke to Billy about Dawn’s recent behaviour, he said: “First of all she accused Kim of murdering her Dad, now she’s accusing me.”
