EastEnders star Michelle Ryan has confirmed another “heartwarming” reunion is on the cards as Zoe Slater returns to Walford.
Zoe returned to the soap last week where she made a brief appearance before leaving and getting on a plane to Barcelona, with Alfie Moon pledging to go after her and bring her home.
Since it was announced that she would be reprising the role after 20 years away, Michelle has been keeping fans updated on her return, teasing what’s to come.
Taking to Instagram today, Michelle shared a picture of some scripts, saying that she had recently been reunited with Mo Harris actor Laila Morse.
“Time to prep scripts,” Michelle captioned the post. “This morning I saw Mo @lailamorse10 for the first time in twenty years! It was lovely, heart warming as Mo is one in a million. Looking forward to our scenes together.”
Michelle previously teased a reunion with Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat, hinting that the estranged mother and daughter duo will soon reunite as Michelle and Jessie have already shared some scenes together.
“I haven’t been this excited about work in a long time,” Michelle said in a video. “And being back working with Jessie is amazing, and I can’t say any more because I’ll get into trouble.”
Discussing her comeback recently, Michelle said: “It all happened at the right time. I’d already been thinking about a return because I’d met up with Kacey [Ainsworth, who played Little Mo Mitchell] and Kim [Medcalf, who played Sam Mitchell].
“We were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I’d also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character. It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new executive producer [Ben Wadey].”
