Viewers have started to make their own predictions about who caused Chas Dingle to fall to the ground as she collapsed in The Woolpack following an overdose. Chas has been taking codeine for her back injury which she sustained following the tragic limo crash earlier this year.
Driving the limo, Charity swerved off the road into a frozen lake, which led to the deaths of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). However, Chas was also injured during the devastating crash, but many viewers think she has not been taking her pain as seriously as she should be.
During Tuesday’s broadcast of the ITV soap, residents of the village gathered at The Woolpack to celebrate Chas and Liam’s engagement. While the group was celebrating, someone bumped into Chas and she immediately tensed her back in pain.
Tonight (Wednesday March 19), Chas was taking her codeine to relieve the pain while her family members, Liam, Aaron and John were concerned about her health. Later in the episode, she entered the pub to open up and collapsed to the floor, banging her head on the bar.
Chas lay unconscious, before John and Vic came to find her. Surprised to see the landlady on the floor, John checked her pulse and asked his sister to call an ambulance.

The group arrived at the hospital, alongside a concerned Liam. After performing some health checks when Chas regained consciousness, the nurse asked: “The codeine you’ve been prescribed for your back injury, have you been taking it exactly as you were instructed?”
She added: “Your results show elevated levels of opiates far beyond anything we’d expect. It would likely explain the blackout.” But Chas was adamant she had been taking the medication correctly, as she said: “I’ve been taking them exactly like I was told I swear.”
Liam’s concerns continued to grow, as he questioned why his fiancée had overdosed. He explained he had been keeping a close eye on her tablets and said he would’ve noticed if she had taken too many.

As a result of the mysterious situation, Emmerdale fans began to point the finger at another member of the village. Taking to social media, one viewer wrote: “I did predict Chas would get addicted to pain pills, but I really don’t think she’s to blame for this.”
More added to the conversation on X: “Woooah!! Someone’s trying to kill Chas off” and “Is someone trying to poison Chas or something?” Many viewers framed none other than John Sugden as prime suspect. One said: “Did John do something to Chas??”, while another predicted: “John swapped Chas’ medication…?”

In recent scenes, John expressed he was not happy with Chas because it was revealed she wasn’t his biggest fan. John recently proposed to Chas’ son Aaron, and the protective mum was not best pleased.
Elsewhere, Antony Fox’s corpse lies buried in the woods, as John disposed of the body after Ruby Fox-Miligan murdered her dad. Viewers know that John is capable of a lot more than meets the eye, with a violent side to his personality yet to be unmasked.
