Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ who will be called as Gary Windass’ next of kin as his condition took a worrying turn.
There has been confusion among viewers of the ITV soap after Gary’s failure to return home from visiting his mum, Anna, has sparked concern among his loved ones, particularly wife Maira.
The concerns of Maria, and her son Liam Connor, then continued, even though Gary had appeared to have texted to say he was staying with a friend and just needed some space.
While his family is none the wiser, during Friday’s (June 27) episode of Corrie, viewers saw a shocking glimpse of Gary a battered and bruised Gary, who is lying in a hospital bed in a coma. Then, during Wednesday’s (July 2) trip to the cobbles, Maria was seen being hopeful that Gary would return, seeing as it was Liam’s 16th birthday.
However, as the day went on, still with no sign of Gary, Marie began to grow more concerned, and after a word from Sarah Platt, she eventually agreed to call Anna Windass to see if she knew where he had gone.
While Maria had received a text from Gary revealing he was going to spend some time with a friend, Anna explained that he had told her he was going straight home to make up with Maria, leaving her to finally consider speaking to the police.
Meanwhile, Gary was seen still alone in hospital, where his condition took a sudden turn for the worse, leaving doctors rushing to seemingly help save his life.

With things not looking good, the doctors agreed to call his next of kin. But the only phone call Maria received was from Anna. Meanwhile, Lou Michaelis was seen taking a mystery phone call, after teenage son Brody questioned her about her having a different phone.
