Season 12 has been a time of change on Fire. In addition to Killmer’s departure
following a festive wedding to—the love of her life— Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) at
a fish store, Rome Flynn’s Derek Gibson quietly said goodbye in this week’s episode.
But this is Chicago Fire, so who knows if/when these actors could come back to reprise their roles or to boss their friends around as directors. Speaking of which, Brian Tee will direct episode 911 this season of his former series Chicago Med and Jesse Lee Soffer will direct a Season 11 episode of Chicago P.D. One can hope Soffer is returning as an actor as well, with Tracy Spiridakos leaving after 8 seasons on the police procedural. Here’s hoping she gets her happily ever after.
