Diane Farr is sharing a surprise update about her future in the Fire Country franchise — and it’s one that may have to do with an upcoming spinoff.

For the last three seasons, fans of Fire Country have gotten to see Diane portray family matriarch Sharon Leone on TV. While viewers have seen her as a wife, mom and first responder for Cal Fire, folks also got to see Diane’s character expand to having a complicated relationship with her former stepsister, Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin).

Given how Mickey (and subsequently, Morena) will be the focus of the new spinoff Sheriff Country (airing in the fall of 2025 on CBS), it’s only fair we’d get to see Diane pop up there, too. And it looks like there may be some crossover happening in the Fire Country universe, thanks to a behind-the-scenes collab post Diane and Morena dropped on Instagram on June 17.

“When you and your pretend sister show up wearing the same shirt for real,” the caption read alongside photos of both Diane and Morena on set. “And then someone hands you this can of soda … #meanttobe #kismet.”

When fans caught wind of Diane seemingly on the set of Sheriff Country, they immediately had to comment about how much they enjoyed seeing her with Morena.

While there’s no word yet about an exact release date for either Sheriff Country or Fire Country season 4, it’s clear that the two shows will have crossover events. Fans already witnessed Morena pop up on Fire Country in seasons 2 and 3, so we can’t wait to see what’s in store if Diane appears on the CBS spinoff later this year.

As for what fans can expect from Sheriff Country, the show will follow Mickey Fox as she solves various cases around Edgewater. With Morena portraying the lead role, the series will also featureW. Earl Brown (Wes Fox), Christopher Gorham (Mickey’s ex-husband Travis), Michele Weaver (Cassidy) and plenty more characters to help bring the story to life.

Well, we certainly need to know more about Diane’s role on Sheriff Country when the show airs this fall!
