Exclusive: Emmerdale star suggests incredible real-life siblings twist for Coronation Street crossover

Emmerdale and Coronation Street‘s upcoming crossover has got fans and stars alike theorising about what might go down.

The pair of ITV soaps will come together next January to kick off the revised 2026 schedule, and everyone’s got an idea about what they’d love to see.

For Emmerdale‘s Amelia Flanagan, who plays April Windsor, it’d be the perfect excuse for a family reunion, as her siblings Will and Isabella are both currently starring in Corrie as Joseph Brown and Hope Stape respectively.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards’ red carpet, Amelia, who has portrayed April since 2014, was asked who she’d most like to share a scene with in the crossover.

“I mean, I’d probably have to say my brother and sister, seeing as they are Corrie members! Yes, Will and Bella, who I love to pieces,” she said. “Yeah, they’re brilliant. It’d be great to do that.”

Speaking more generally about the crossover, the actor said she was very excited about the potential of what might happen, though she admitted that she wasn’t sure if she was going to appear yet.

“I have no idea [if I’ll appear], so I think you’ll just have to wait and see. Watch this space!” she added. “But I think it’s an exciting opportunity for both soaps to merge for an episode, and I think people are going to really enjoy whatever we do with it.”

Both Amelia and Will were both nominated in the Best Young Performance category at this year’s British Soap Awards. Amelia ended up winning, but there was no sibling rivalry to be seen, as Will had a very supportive reaction her win.

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Jack P Shepherd teased that he thinks the “big key hitters” from each soap have been told if they are in the crossover or not, and has heard rumours he’ll be involved.

“There’s rumours – and I’m sniffing that I might be in the periphery,” said the actor, who plays David Platt on Corrie. “With my Yorkshire accent. I think I’m in it, talking Yorkshire and they’re like: ‘Where are you from? Are you from Bradford?'”
