The Barton brothers were reunited off-screen last week when Ross Barton headed off to look after his brother, Pete.

Pete had been beaten up – an attack arranged by Joe Tate to get Ross out of the way so he could carry out his deranged plan to steal Caleb’s kidney.

So Ross rushed off to make sure his brother was all right.

Later he gave Steph a rundown of his family history, reeling off the details of his mum Emma kidnapping his dad James, and later killing him. And about her shooting his brother Finn dead, maybe accidentally.

Is Pete returning?

Fans were delighted with the reminder. We know that when characters get a mention in soap it’s often a hint that they could be coming back to the show.

So we were already wondering if Pete Barton, who was played by actor Anthony Quinlan, could be on his way back to the Dales.

And then we saw this very exciting post on social media.

The pic was posted by a friend of Joe Gill, who played the ill-fated Finn Barton. And it shows Joe, alongside Anthony Quinlan – AKA Pete – and Mike Parr, who plays Ross.

The picture included the caption ‘bros’ with a celebratory emoji.

Could this be a huge hint that Pete could be coming back to Emmerdale?

What’s Anthony Quinlan doing now?

Anthony has been focusing on his fitness business recently. According to IMDB, Anthony will soon be appearing in a film called Down In The Deep Water.

While he’s pretty active on social media – often posting pics from his workouts with girlfriend Nikki Sanderson (best known as Maxine from Hollyoaks), Anthony’s not mentioned any return to Emmerdale.

But never say never – and we’d definitely be here for it!
