Emmerdale has had an intense few weeks as residents of the Dales have reached boiling point. Chas and Liam pointed the finger at Ella which led to her being ostracised from the village.

Manpreet’s secret was exposed after Ella turned on her, leading to her trying to salvage the respect of her patients. Laurel warned Jai off as he tried to dig for dirt on where Anthony Fox could be, which even led to him trying to befriend Steph.

Also, Joe Tate’s villainy reached its peak when he orchestrated Caleb to be stabbed. With Caleb surviving the operation and Joe’s kidney transplant complete, there’s more drama on the horizon.

John Sugden slips up…

John has raised suspicions from fans since he first arrived in the village, particularly as not much is known about him or his military past.

He’s struck up a romance with Aaron Dingle and the pair are recently engaged, after John showed his level of commitment as he cleared Anthony Fox’s body from the crime scene when Aaron thought he had accidentally murdered him.

With John coming to Chas’ rescue after she collapsed just a day after she doubted whether he could be trusted, it appears he has some more work to put in…

Liam is annoyed when distracted John misdiagnoses Kerry. The next day, Liam reveals that he’s reviewing all of John’s work. John opens up to Vic about some of the mistakes he’s made as a medic. Keen to keep him positive, Vic shares her own professional blunders and encourages him to forgive himself.

The next day, when Jacob takes a sip of the wrong coffee he goes into anaphylactic shock and panics to find his AAI pen is missing. John rushes to Jacob’s unconscious body. John checks for a pulse as Vic panics. Can John prove himself capable in a medical crisis?

Sarah Sugden has had a difficult few weeks since Jacob decided to end things with her after his mum, Leyla, died in the limo crash. This happened just after Sarah thought she was pregnant with his baby, but this later turned out to be a false positive.

Since then, Sarah’s taken a shine to newcomer Kammy who’s set to cause some trouble. Sarah distracts Cain in order to steal his car keys and for Kammy (following her orders) to steal his car from the garage so they can go out for a spin.

Unaware Sarah is involved, Jacob, having witnessed Kammy speeding off in Cain’s car, contacts the police. A while later, PC Swirling pulls Sarah over on a country road whilst she’s driving Cain’s car. Although she’s initially cocky with him, she’s quickly humbled when Swirling insists on looking in the boot…

When Kim Tate gets distracted by a work call, her gun is left near Thomas who quickly sets his sight on it. Moments later, Gabby’s furious to find Thomas playing around the gun box. She fumes at Kim and accuses her of undermining her parenting.

Kim then feels blindsided when Gabby, Vinny and Thomas make the decision to move in with the Dingles. However, life isn’t any easier for Sarah at the Dingles and she soon picks up on the tension between herself and Sam. Sam pretends to Kim that Gabby is thinking of moving to Leeds, which spurs on Kim.

Despite herself, Gabby’s thrilled when Kim promises to let her live in Dale View in order to keep her and Thomas in the village. Excited to begin their new life in Dale View, Gabby and Vinny get to work on moving in. Having seen through Sam’s manipulation, Kim’s impressed by his tenacity.

Pollard fumes over a betrayal…

As Leyla Harding’s funeral aired, fans were treated to a set of flashbacks that showed Leyla knew about three secrets – Suzy and Mary’s kiss, Manpreet’s racy photos, and Tracy stealing from Pollard.

Tracy admitted that she needed the money after Nate had stopped paying child support for Frankie and he hadn’t been heard from since he “left” the village.

Next week, she’s unnerved to hear that Eric intends to look over the accounts in order to prepare the business for sale. Later that day, Tracy’s wracked with guilt when Pollard beats himself up over the missing money whilst continuing to praise her for her support. The next day Tracy’s hit with a sudden wave of guilt and confesses to Vanessa about her stealing.

Tracy’s touched when Vanessa apologises about her ignorance to Tracy’s financial issues and gives her an envelope of cash to replace Pollard’s missing money. Tracy replaces the missing money but gaslights Pollard into thinking he misplaced it. Tracy’s guilt surges when Pollard insists on taking her out for lunch to thank her for her support. During their lunch, a drunk and angry Vanessa rips into Tracy and tells Eric about her thievery. Devastated by the betrayal, Pollard fires Tracy on the spot as the quiet pub observes the spectacle.

Jacob feels mortified when he accidentally walks in on Sarah in the middle of an intimate afternoon with Kammy, just weeks after their split.

Grieving, upset and drunk and angry over the death and betrayal of her girlfriend Suzy, Vanessa rails at Rhona for her mum’s actions. Kim orchestrates a romantic night away for Dawn and Billy in the hope that it’ll get their relationship back on track after Dawn’s fling with Joe Tate.
