Dead Emmerdale character declared ‘alive’ in ITVX episode – but it’s not how it seems

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (March 11), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale‘s Steph Miligan launches her biggest plan yet in Tuesday’s episode as she tries to uncover the truth over Anthony Fox’s fate.

Steph is desperate for answers after Anthony’s mysterious disappearance from the village in January – and she strongly suspects that her parents Ruby and Caleb are keeping a dark secret.

Viewers know that Ruby killed her abusive father Anthony at Caleb’s depot nearly two months ago.

Caleb has since been helping Ruby to cover up her crime. Aaron Dingle, John Sugden, Chas Dingle and Cain Dingle have also been actively involved in trying to keep the truth under wraps.

In Tuesday’s episode, which is streaming early on ITVX, Steph comes up with a clever plan to test her theory that Ruby and Caleb have something to hide.

At The Woolpack, Steph lies to Caleb by claiming that she has finally managed to get in touch with Anthony and he’s fine.

Feeling no guilt for her deception, Steph then watches Caleb’s reaction closely to see how he responds to her totally unbelievable claim.

As Caleb searches for the appropriate reaction, he only has a split second to judge the difficult situation. Will he pass the test – or will Steph’s brazen lie help her to uncover the truth once and for all?

Meanwhile, Aaron witnesses the tense exchange and is clearly alarmed to see Steph playing games like this.

He encourages Caleb to shut Steph down before this gets out of hand, but what can Caleb do?

Fans can see how the situation unfolds when tonight’s episode airs at 7.30pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.

Georgia Jay, who plays Steph, recently explained: “Steph has got to a bit of a dead end and she’s fed up. I don’t think she fully believes that Caleb and Ruby killed Anthony, but it’s an idea she has.

“The analogy I have is that you can think something, but it doesn’t mean you fully believe it. It’s a bit like suspecting someone is cheating on you – you can suspect it but you don’t know for sure.

“Steph just wants this thing solved.”
