Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper) has finally spoken up about some of vile husband
Tom King’s (James Chase) abuse in Emmerdale. Earlier this week, after a horrific trip
to Wales which saw Belle locked up in the cottage and attacked by Tom, she made
an escape and returned to the village. Tom quickly revealed that she’dhad an abortion instead of a miscarriage to Charity (Emma Atkins) and Cain (Jeff Hordley), before lying that she had stopped taking her medication. Back at the village she began to pack her bags, but he asserted that he would kill her before he ever let her. In tonight’s (26th July) episode, the Dingle clan were believing Tom’s claims that Belle’s mental health had spiralled as a result of her not taking her meds. Belle awoke and was taken aback that Sam (James Hooton) had allowed her beloved dog Piper – who Tom previously tried to kill – to run about in the garden.
Desperate to have her pooch by her side, she headed out to find her… but before long, Tom arrived with the canine beneath his arm. Belle was taken aback to see her sinister husband evading her safe space and ordered him to leave, with him heading down to The Woolpack for a drink with Paddy. The story has been one of Emmerdale’s most harrowing (Picture: ITV) Vinny put his foot in it (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock) Vinny (Bradley Johnson) implored her to be more open and asked her outright if he was abusive. She admitted to his verbal jibes, but didn’t open up about the physical and psychological neglect he had inflicted on her over the last year. Later, at the pub, Tom began to twist the knife again and told Paddy that Belle was in the wrong.
The conversation was overheard by Vinny, and a huge row erupted – with all of the patrons overhearing about her abortion. Belle arrived and leaped to Tom’s defence, furious that everyone now knew she didn’t miscarry. The two then headed into the beer garden to chat and he played the victim, telling her he was fearing for his life as a result of her actions. Back at Wishing Well, she ordered Vinny to keep out of her life, believing that she is the issue, and not Tom. Will she ever be able to escape his clutches?
