Emmerdale uproar as Samson’s betrayal leads to soap legend’s arrest – and fans are livid

Emmerdale’s Samson Dingle, portrayed by Sam Hall, has stirred up more controversy among

fans after dropping a massive revelation. The character has been at the centre of much drama recently,

with his mischievous mate Josh Cope (Osian Morgan) as they threatened Matty (Ash Palmisciano)

during an attempted robbery at The Hide. However, things took a turn for the worse when Josh pushed Samson into Matty, who was holding a knife, resulting in Samson getting stabbed. Josh then convinced Samson to falsely accuse Matty of intentionally stabbing him. Consequently, Matty was sent to prison, where he feared that his transgender identity would make him a target. This week, he was beaten up and hospitalised, causing concern for his family. With the help of Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb), she kidnapped Samson and pleaded with him to confess. After a tense standoff, Samson finally admitted that it was Josh who had coerced him into attacking Matty with the bottle, reports the Express. Mack then proposed that Samson and Matty should lie to the police and claim that Josh was the one who attacked Matty.

Mack and Moira on Emmerdale

Samson seemed persuaded, and Moira drove him to the police station to give a statement. However, Samson didn’t allow Moira to accompany him inside – and later, it was revealed that Samson had no intention of telling the truth. The police unexpectedly arrived at Moira’s farm, leaving her and Mack utterly shocked after learning that Samson accused them of kidnapping him. A confused Cain (Jeff Hordley) soon joined the scene, but was left unbalanced as both Moria and Mack were apprehended by the boys in blue. Emmerdale fans seethed with anger over Samson’s betrayal of Mack and Moira.

On social media site X, previously known as Twitter, one exasperated viewer exclaimed: “Samson did Moira dirty there! “. A second chimed in: “Oh my god, what have you done now Samson, ffs.” Another added their disbelief saying: “What the hell is wrong with Samson.” Others echoed the sentiment, with one stating: “What a horrible character Samson has become, he’s happy for a relative to be killed and gets another arrested to protect a mate he’s had for two minutes.” Rounding off the indignation, a fifth posted: “So that little rat Samson has grassed on Moira and Mac smfdh that boy has no shame or conscience.”
