Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley has teased Cain Dingle could take revenge on Tom King in
upcoming scenes, as he hinted at the villain’s downfall. The Cain actor joined co-star Emma
Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle, in teasing dramatic scenes set to air next week. The pair
will finally clock on to something being wrong between Belle Dingle and her husband Tom, with worrying scenes ahead. Now, Jeff has addressed viewers’ hopes that Cain will be the one to take down Tom, with him teasing whether the character will kill the villain for harming his sister Belle. Tom has been coercively controlling his wife Belle for months and recently he turned violent. He’s now plotting to get her away from the village for good, taking her to a secluded cottage in Wales without her phone and without telling her loved ones. Belle thinks they are on holiday until she realises Tom plans to stay in Wales for good. They shared the characters feel real fear for Belle, as they finally realise she is in danger. It seems with that, Cain finally realises Charity’s concerns about Tom are true as the truth unravels. But could we see Cain take Tom down, and might he even go as far as to kill him? Teasing Tom’s downfall and how far Cain will go to avenge Belle if needed, he said: “It’s his little sister.
If someone hurts his little sister there’s no saying what Cain would do.” Emma added: “They do what they need to do.” He added on the possible revenge ahead: “I think it was almost inevitable that there was gonna be a time where Cain was gonna get wind of what’s been going on. It’s always interesting… Cain was once this not very liked figure by viewers when he joined.
“Now he is seen as this hero, who can go in and save the day for other people and not in a nice way.” As for Tom, he added: “He’s clever in the way he operates and he’s masking everything that is going on really well. We don’t have a clue.” Jeff also confirmed there would be a comeuppance for Tom at some point. He said: “Well yeah, because everyone loves Belle don’t they. This is what we have to see. It’s an important storyline, this coercive behaviour that happens and people find themselves in these relationships. “So it’s good that it has been told over a period that’s not too short. These things don’t just happen over a few months, it can be years.” On whether Belle is in real danger, Emma told us: “We immediately fear for her safety. There’s no one in the house and so we assume that Belle is in real trouble.”
