Actor Kevin Mathurin’s character, Charles Anderson, is currently in

the limelight for his ongoing storyline with Laurel Thomas on Emmerdale.

In recent weeks, the two have been constantly clashing with each other

over their contrasting ideas for the village Harvest Fest. However, spoilers reveal that things take a drastic turn when their intense argument turns into passion and they end up with locked lips.

The unexpected twist came as a shocker to many Emmerdale fans. Now, Kevin Mathurin reveals that it was a shocking shift for him too. “It was a total surprise! It came out of nowhere. I was kind of excited when the storyline came up, though, because working with Charlotte Bellamy was fantastic,” he told Digital Spy at the Inside Soaps Awards.

Furthermore, Kevin quipped that it is a really fun storyline to do, and no one knows where it will go. However, one thing is clear, this hookup definitely proves that Charles is now moving on from his former lover, Manpreet Sharma. The two broke up earlier this year, after they drifted apart after the passing of Charles’ son Ethan.

“I think Charles is always going to love Manpreet because they go way back. But as far as going onto pastures new, there are deep feelings there between Charles and Laurel,” Kevin told the media. The actor also cheekily added that it would be great to be in a love triangle with Manpreet and Laurel.

Hmm, now that we think of it, we do feel inclined to agree that it could be a lot of fun to watch Charles, Laurel, and Manpreet in a love triangle. Also, if you add Jai Sharma to the mix, it’ll be the best kind of soapy mess. And we are here for it!
