Nobody trusted Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) when she first appeared
in Emmerdale. After all, she was the woman who’d walked out on her partner
Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and five year old daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley)
and never looked back. Now she was expecting to be able to make amends with Dawn and get to know her grandchildren. After a shaky start, Dawn allowed Rose to move into Home Farm so she could get to know her and despite Kim Tate (Claire King)’s best efforts, Rose is still there. What none of the family know is that Rose has a hidden agenda. While she is enjoying getting to know Dawn, Billy (Jay Kontzle) and the kids and is having fun winding Kim up, she’s a woman on a mission. She’s an acquaintance of Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and is working to help Ruby destroy Kim Tate. Kim, as viewers know, was previously married to Frank Tate (Norman Bowler), Caleb (William Ash)’s father.
Caleb blames her for his father’s death and for taking what’s rightfully his. His previous mission to destroy Kim ended in failure when she worked out what he was up to and turned the tables on him. Now it seems that Ruby is carrying on the job that Caleb started – with Rose’s help, though Rose previously tried to get out of the pact with Ruby until Ruby told her it was too late to back out. n upcoming episodes Rose is getting closer to Dawn who has the weight of the world on her shoulders dealing with her baby son Evan’s leukaemia treatment and trying to keep him safe from infection. She can only do this by keeping Clemmie (Mabel Addison) and Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall) off school to stop them catching any germs, which upsets them both. Rose convinces Dawn to join her for a brandy and unwind, but then offers her some heavy-duty sleeping tablets.
Will is horrified and reminds Rose that Dawn is a recovering addict and tells her she’s on her last chance. Dawn is more forgiving and accepts that Rose made a mistake but says that they can move past it and continue to get to know each other. Rose is pleased to be getting closer to her daughter. Her good mood is short-lived as Kim has a word of warning for her. She says that Will is a long way from forgiving her and reminds Rose that she doesn’t trust her at all. Rose tells Ruby that things aren’t going entirely smoothly with their plan, as Kim is on the warpath. Ruby reminds her that they’re playing for high stakes and she shouldn’t be deterred by this setback. Does Kim have any inkling of what Ruby and Rose are planning?
