However, fans think his latest sinister move could potentially be the key for Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to finally rid herself of him. The much-loved canine was hit by the deceitful vet last week, leaving her fate uncertain until Tom declared there was no hope for her and seemingly put her down in an attempt to get closer to his estranged wife.
However, on Wednesday (August 21), ITV viewers were shocked when Piper, who had even had her own funeral in the Dales, was shown to be alive and heading to a new home as Tom continued to cover his tracks and discredit a “crazy” Belle.
This unexpected twist was met with a wave of reactions on Twitter, with many viewers relieved to see Piper alive. Prior to the reveal, Emmerdale producers had been inundated with a significant number of Ofcom complaints.
