Emmerdale viewers have been left screaming as they have all spotted the same
“mistake” that Belle Dingle keeps making in her plot with Tom King The villain has
been putting his wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) through a horrifying abuse
plot for months, taking a dark turn this week. Tom (James Chase) has been using coercive control over Belle, separating her and twisting things, badly affecting her mental health. This escalated to physical violence when he tried to run off with her to Wales, but she got away. Though she ended their relationship and told him to go, he secretly put cameras in the house. Along with spying on her, he deliberately ran over her beloved dog Piper, and then lied to Belle about her dying. Immediately suspecting Tom “killed her”, viewers are aware Piper is in fact alive, taken by Tom to a family outside the village. While Tom cruelly blamed Belle for mistreating the dog, fans hope Piper will somehow return home. However, during all this chaos, Belle confronted Tom several times, reports the Mirror.
Plucking up the courage to face him, their heated arguments have seen him mocking and even threatening her, reports the Manchester Evening News. Fans have spotted Belle’s ‘mistake’ (Image: ITV) But with those around her clueless about the truth and worried about her mental state, fans have offered ideas for Belle to finally unmask Tom as the monster he really is. Audiences are gripped but increasingly exasperated with the character Belle, accusing her of repeatedly overlooking what they see as a critical “mistake”. In each intense face-off with Tom, he makes a blunder by saying something that could expose all his lies.
However, Belle has continuously neglected to tape these interactions on her phone, although Tom has never thought to search for such evidence. Fans argue that Belle’s significant “blunder” is failing to capture Tom’s true conduct and reveal his true colours to everyone. If Belle succeeds in recording proof of Toms menacing remarks about Piper and his threats during her efforts to break away from him, it might turn the plot on its head. On X, a viewer exclaimed: “Belle record him ffs.” Another viewer criticised: “Belle’s storyline is boring now because she could really just record a conversation with Tom and finish him in minutes.” (sic) Another added their thoughts, saying: “Belle should record these interactions!” And someone else complained: “Why did Belle not record any conversation between her and Tom? Especially that last conversation!?”
