Emmerdale only walked away with two wins at the British Soap Awards, and it’s safe to say that fans are absolutely fuming.
Last night (June 5), the biggest night of the year for soaps aired on TV, and the cast seemed to have an amazing night. While the show was pre-recorded, many viewers didn’t actually read the results prior, and opted to wait for it to be on TV. However, Emmerdale fans were left massively disappointed.
Despite the incredible and powerful storylines over the past 12 months, Emmerdale only walked away with two trophies. Instead, EastEnders dominated the night with a whopping eight wins. And it seems many Emmerdale fans are calling it a ‘fix’.

Emmerdale didn’t win big at the British Soap Awards
Over the last year, Emmerdale has been filled with absolute talent. From Belle’s abusive marriage with Tom, to Ruby’s powerful abuse storyline, it has all been incredible.
Not to mention the amazing returns of Ross Barton and Joe Tate, with both stars coming back after six years away.
So when none of the actors in those roles won any awards, fans were furious.
However, April star Amelia Flanagan did take the trophy for Best Young Performer, a category she first won ten years ago. And she was up against her brother, William, for his role in Coronation Street.
Then the Tony Warren award for behind-the-scenes contribution went to long-serving cameraman Mike Plant, who has been behind the lens for some of our favourite storylines.

Fans claim ‘fix’
EastEnders dominated the wins. And it just so happens to fall on their huge 40th anniversary – something which fans are quick to notice.
Taking to the comments of a Facebook post, Emmerdale fans made their annoyed feelings known, insisting the soap deserved more.
One wrote: “I turned it off. It was the EastEnders show.”
Another added: “It was rigged for sure because it was EastEnders’ anniversary. Should have been Emmerdale, especially because of the crash.”
“Getting a bit bored seeing EastEnders win everything! Not sure they were that deserving” another penned.
An enraged fan wrote: “Talk about a fix for EastEnders. I think the other soaps should have had a better chance.”
Emmerdale seems to be getting better and better recently. And as it looks like there will be more drama to come, hopefully 2026 is their year for the big wins.
