Fans of Emmerdale have voiced their concern that local killer John Sugden may never face justice for the murder of Nate Robinson. Poor missing Nate’s body was finally fished (or dredged) up last week, but the authorities are no closer to finding the killer.
Instead, they’ve immediately honed in on Cain Dingle (who, to be fair, didn’t exactly do himself any favours by beating up Nate and then not telling the police about it). With the body in a serious case of decomposition and John having covered his tracks well, nobody suspects him just yet.
When – if ever – is that likely to change?

John to get away with Nate murder, Emmerdale fans fear
Speculating as to when John might get caught out, some viewers shared their theories on how long the storyline might go on for. And while most are predicting a Halloween or Christmas reveal, others are fearful John might never face justice.
“If it’s anything like Gary Windass in Corrie then never!! It will just get brushed under the carpet and forgotten,” wrote one fan on Reddit.
“Has there ever been a case in soap land where a killer has gotten away and not caught,” wondered another. They then continued: “Maybe cain gets wrongly set up and sentenced but then the truth finally comes out.”
“I don’t currently see a clear path for John to be exposed,” said a third. “Something needs to trigger him into losing control again. We already know he harmed Aidan because he felt unloved, if he starts to sense insecurity around Robert and Aaron, it could easily push him over the edge.”
Could Robert and Aaron be the key to John’s unravelling?

John manipulates the police in Emmerdale tonight
As the investigation continues tonight (Monday, June 9), John is desperate to get Cain out of trouble. Questioned over Nate’s last movements, John tries to shift attention away from Cain.
Back in the village, as Cain and Tracy point fingers at each other, John comes up with a plan. But what will he do next… and what does this mean for Cain and Tracy?
