Emmerdale viewers were left a bit distracted during Tuesday’s episode (July 30) due
to Caleb Milligan’s dinner at The Woolpack. In the latest visit to the village, Caleb
(played by William Ash) and his wife Ruby Fox-Milligan (portrayed by Beth Cordingly)
returned from their Bali holiday only to be greeted with some unfortunate news. Caleb received a call from the police informing him about a fire at his car dealership. The authorities didn’t waste any time in investigating the suspected arson attack and promptly visited Caleb for questioning. Upon entering his home, he mentioned to Ruby how “lucky” it was that he had increased the business premiums before their trip, leaving her shocked. When asked about his whereabouts during the fire, Caleb claimed he was at home with Ruby, but the officer seemed suspicious. As Caleb pondered over who could have started the fire at his dealership, he told Ruby he didn’t believe it was his old enemy Kim Tate (Claire King). Unbeknownst to Caleb, Ruby has been scheming with Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) to destroy Kim’s life. At The Woolpack, Ruby tried to pin the blame on Kim, but Caleb dismissed her accusation, reports the Express. “Nah, she might be a vengeful witch, but our beef’s ancient history. It would make no sense,” he said to his wife. However, shortly after, Kim approached Caleb and made a joke about the fire. However, amidst the enigma of the recent fire incident, some Emmerdale aficionados couldn’t help but get sidetracked by Caleb’s hearty pub grub, as it seemed the chap was tucking into an entire chicken served on a board. Hopping onto social media, one baffled viewer quizzed: “Was Caleb eating a chicken, a full chicken #Emmerdale @emmerdale.” Another fan blurted out in surprise: “Why is Caleb eating an entire chicken? #Emmerdale”, while someone else reiterated the sentiment with: “Is Caleb eating a whole chicken #Emmerdale.” Caleb’s chicken dinner got fans talking (Image: ITV) Adding to the bemused chorus, another chimed in: “Caleb ordering a full chicken to himself,” and lobbed in a laughing emoji for good measure. One viewer had a laugh over the episodes poultry focus, joking, “That wasn’t a good episode except for Caleb’s chicken,” whereas another seemed to throw a cheeky nod to show lore, commenting: “I think one of Sam’s chicken is on Caleb’s plate! ! #Emmerdale @emmerdale,” complete with a pair of chuckling emojis.
