Emotions are running high in Coronation Street next week, as residents reflect after Julie Carp’s (Katy Cavanagh) death.

The beloved character was diagnosed with stage four cancer and initially didn’t want to tell her family when she first returned to Weatherfield.

Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Todd (Gareth Pierce) eventually found out, and vowed to help Julie live her best life while she still had the time.

In upcoming episodes, another wish is fulfilled as Julie spends the day at the lake with Eileen.

This new video shows the siblings relaxing in the sunny weather. They are chatting about relationships and Julie reuniting with Brian (Peter Gunn). She feels worried about him, so Julie asks Eileen to keep an eye on her beloved when she’s gone.

Eileen finds herself getting emotional and tries to lighten the mood, but Julie is just fine. She tells her sister there is nowhere else she’d rather be.

Sadly though, just as Eileen returns from the refreshments van, she finds Julie laying on the blanket with her eyes shut. Her sister has died.

As the Weatherfield residents come to terms with the news, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) spends time remembering Hayley as he makes a candlelit cake in honour of her birthday.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Eileen tries to process recent events but is being somewhat interrupted by George (Tony Maudsley), who wants to discuss their relationship.

All Eileen wants to do is grieve for her sister, but George wants to talk about other things.
