EastEnders reveals why Oscar Branning is in danger in early iPlayer release

EastEnders has revealed why returning character Oscar Branning is in danger, as he comes home to Walford.

Actor Pierre Moullier made his debut as Max’s son Oscar in today’s episode, and it was quickly revealed that the teen had turned troublesome, having just spent time in a youth offender’s centre.

The centre phoned Lauren to collect Oscar, and she rushed to her younger brother. Peter remained in the dark, but was soon filled in when Oscar’s probation officer arrived to assess whether the house was suitable for him to stay in.

Lauren reunited with her sibling, and Oscar cheekily explained that he had served a three-month sentence after getting caught stealing a car.

With Lauren wanting to know why their mum Tanya had kicked him out, Oscar told her that he stole the car with a man nicknamed ‘Fat Mike’.

When he was caught, Oscar gave the police Mike’s name to try and reduce his sentence. But Mike found out that Oscar had grassed and petrol bombed his house – or rather his neighbour’s house, as Oscar had switched the house numbers around.

Oscar was forced to turn to Lauren for help, but she was reluctant, and Ian and Peter were also suspicious when they arrived.

There was a close shave when Oscar ran into Mike and his gang outside the centre, but they all managed to escape in time and headed back to Walford.

Jack also returned to the Square but got a rude awakening when he reunited with Oscar and found out that his nephew had become a criminal.

The Brannings had their doubts about whether to stand by Oscar, but Lauren eventually decided to let his brother stay, as long as he behaved himself.

But that evening, once everyone else had gone to bed, Oscar made sure to arm himself with a knife as he sat in the living room.

He received a worrying text from Mike, which said “we’ll find you”, and the teen began to fear for his safety.

Will Oscar bring danger to the Brannings’ door?
