EastEnders has shared an update about Amy Mitchell’s condition following
the crowd crush, in the show’s latest episode. This week, Chelsea messed with the booking
system at Peggy’s, which led to a tragic incident, as the venue became overcrowded.
Lauren was injured in the crush, and Jack was later devastated to discover that his daughter Amy was in a critical condition and had suffered a cardiac arrest.
In the latest episode, Jack, Denise, Penny and Peter waited for news on Amy and Lauren, when Denzel and Chelsea arrived at the hospital.
Denzel blamed himself for Amy’s injuries, as she originally intended to go to the club to spite him after a row, and Jack was furious.
Penny then said it was her fault, explaining to her dad that she made the situation worse when she pulled the fire alarm in Peggy’s.
Jack later struggled to look at her daughter, as she apologised for her actions – while Chelsea looked on guiltily as the real culprit for what happened.
The doctor then delivered the news that Amy suffered a cardiac arrest and had fractured her pelvis. She remained asleep but was in a stable condition.
Chelsea told her mum that the crush was her fault, but she only said that she left Penny in the lurch when it was busy and didn’t mention that she messed with the booking system.
One of Jack’s colleagues from the police recognised that Chelsea looked uneasy and asked if she had anything to tell him, but she didn’t reveal the truth.
Jack, Denise and Penny sat by Amy’s bedside, and when Chelsea entered the room, she was horrified to see the state she was in.
In the waiting room, Penny apologised to Chelsea for fighting with her, and she said that she should never have been appointed manager.
The police then arrived and explained that they had examined the office laptop and found that extra tickets were illegally issued using Penny’s staff login.
As Penny was taken for an interview under caution, will she get blamed for what happened?
