viewers have been predicting the big Christmas twists they think will unfold on the BBC soap this year EastEnders viewers have been predicting the big Christmas twists they think will unfold on the BBC soap this year EastEnders viewers think they know what twists and turns are ahead on the BBC soap, and what characters may feature this Christmas. Last year’s big Christmas special saw one character turn killer as another was murdered in a dark twist. The storyline has continued throughout the year, with the killer’s secret still covered up. But according to fans, this festive period could be just as dramatic as the last for a number of residents.
While some viewers are hoping for a happier occasion this time around, others have guessed some major plots that they think could feature on Christmas Day or around Christmas. There could be a double death on the cards or more according to fans, with fans convinced two key storylines will tie up around December time. Viewers think this will be when villain Nish Panesar dies, months on from him telling his family he was dying. Fans can’t help but predict his death or his illness will lead to a major twist for his family, with a possible surprise exit in store. Another death could see Reiss Colwell take dark action to cover up his lies, while December does seem a way off for this given he’s currently struggling with his money issues. Another theory is that Dean Wicks’ trial will run on until December, if not longer, and it could lead to his exit or maybe some cast returns.
Phil Mitchell’s own storyline seems to have just kicked off, so might we see some big scenes for him on Christmas Day? Another explosive Christmas theory is the reveal that Cindy Beale has been getting cosy with Junior Knight, the son of her ex-husband George Knight. Viewers are wondering if it will all come out around the dinner table in true soap fashion. Then there was another theory that this year would be more positive, and there’d be a wedding. Speaking on Reddit, one fan theorised: “Nish dies, gets one of his sons to help him die, but sets it up to frame Suki, moral dilemma of whether or not Nish’s son will take the fall or let her go to prison. Phil has a literal Christmas Carol storyline building up to Christmas, Christmas Day is him reaching out to his various paramours and family members, and even Tommy and his brothers.” Promoted Stories Another theory read: “Lauren finds out about Cindy and George Junior months prior, but because she also slept with George Junior, is threatened into saying nothing or else Junior will tell Peter.
“Dean goes down for Keanu’s murder, Bernadette overhears a somewhat drunken Linda admitting the truth about Keanu.” Another fan said: “The Dean trial, maybe Shirley returning for it, Sonia either having a baby or getting pregnant, IDEALLY by absolutely anyone else but Reiss and Reiss will probably kill Debbie.” Powered by A further comment read: “I think that Reiss had something to do with Debbie being in a coma and he will do something to warrant Bianca to sniff deeper into his past. Maybe it’ll be revealed around Xmas.” One viewer posted: “It’ll probably be Nish/Panesar focussed if Nish is in fact dying because it will also link back to last Christmas and Nish nearly dying in the Vic. I have a feeling Vinny/Ravi/Priya could end up dying also after some kind of showdown.” One fan hoped: “I personally am hoping for a happy storyline. So much repeated sadness over and over. I’d love a festive wedding (which ends happily this time, not ending in a murder and a head bottling).” EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
