Earlier this week, Eve popped the question to Suki in front of their family and
friends at The Vic, yet Suki hesitated to give her an answer. Eve was crushed by Suki’s
reluctance to tie the knot, having already worried about the future of their relationship
following the surprise reappearance of Suki’s first love Ayesha Siddhu. In Thursday’s (August 8) episode, viewers learned that Eve had spent the night away from No.41 following the failed proposal. Eve returned to the home the following morning but was instantly jealous to find Ayesha greeting her at the door. Ayesha quickly made an excuse to leave when Suki and Eve started rowing. Suki accused Eve of letting Nish get inside her head and then running off at the first sign of trouble.
“I didn’t ask for Ayesha to come back into my life. But it’s only natural that I’d want to know what she’s made of herself and that is all it is,” Suki insisted. Suki then assured Eve: “I love you, and I want you, and I have never felt happier.” Asked why she’d turned down the proposal, Suki explained that marriage made her think of decades of Nish’s psychological warfare. Suki was dubious of Eve’s instinct to protect, reminding her partner that all of Nish’s lies were in the service of supposedly “protecting” her. “You just want to be able to move on whenever you get bored me?” Eve shot back.
With the pair at loggerheads, Suki got some surprising encouragement about her future with Eve from Ayesha. “Everyone has a second chance to do [love] properly,” Ayesha pointed out. Suki later turned up at The Vic to propose to Eve, telling her: “I love you, and I’d walk through fire for you. If I were to live my life again, I’d find you sooner. Will you do me the greatest honour of my life and be my wife?” Eve happily accepted the proposal, with the couple sharing a romantic kiss. Nish watched Suki hugging Ayesha goodbye outside the pub, with the wheels turning on his next plot. What is he planning?
