The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV, but is available to view on ITVX.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) realised in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale that he still has an awful lot of work to do with other members of his family following his betrayal.
Yesterday, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) got drunk in the pub after being given the all-clear by her doctor. Her decision to drink was to celebrate her good news, but to also distract herself from her marriage to Cain ending.
Moira’s mood changed when Ruby (Beth Cordingly) arrived. The two women then entered the back room of the pub, where Ruby ended up giving her enemy some advice.
Ruby told Moira that she shouldn’t throw her marriage to Cain away on ‘pride and pig-headedness’. The approach Ruby had wasn’t exactly warming and full of support, but it worked.
Later that day, Moira told Cain that she’d like to give their relationship another go, and he was completely relieved.
Tonight’s episode of the ITV soap marked the day before Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt’s (Natalie Ann Jamieson) funerals. While in the shop, Vic (Isabel Hodgins) commented on how she had been helping Matty (Ash Palmisciano) and Kerry (Laura Norton) a lot with the preparations, as they were understandably finding things incredibly tough.
Meanwhile, Kerry was busy making some food for Matty. By their facial expressions alone, the two characters were exhausted by their grief, but knew the importance of supporting each other.
The two villagers were then paid a visit by Cain, who had a dry-cleaned outfit for Matty. He immediately wondered why Cain was bringing it over and not his mum.

After noting Moira’s radiotherapy session, Cain announced he was helping out again because Moira had allowed him back into Butlers. The news left Matty stunned, and his immediate reaction was to tell Cain he wouldn’t be welcome at Amy’s funeral.
Cain reminded Matty that he needed to attend to support Kyle (Huey Quinn), his and Amy’s son.
Clearly consumed by his anger towards Cain, and the emotions surrounding losing Amy, Matty ended up making one final decision about Cain’s place at the funeral.
Will he be allowed to attend?
