Emmerdale‘s Billy Fletcher faces a horrible world of pain next week, as he blames himself for his baby son Evan’s hospitalisation. But how will Dawn react to her ex’s inner turmoil?
It wasn’t that long ago that Billy and Dawn called it quits, and a dramatic turn of events this week sees the personal trainer accuse his wife of cheating with Ross Barton.
Unfortunately, Billy’s anguish is far from over, as he convinces himself that he is responsible for his baby being taken to hospital…
“Billy is in the depths of despair,” our Emmerdale source explains.
“Emmerdale bosses are keeping quiet about why Evan ends up requiring medical attention, but whatever the reason, it really cuts Billy up inside. It’s one of those situations where you’ll find your heart aching for him.

“The poor man wrongfully thinks he was the one that destroyed his marriage, now he believes that he is the reason his baby is in hospital, too.”
At Hotten General, Billy and Dawn share a private moment together as they talk through the unfortunate predicament that they have found themselves in.
Devastated, the dad-of-three opens up about his painful emotions and the guilt that is tearing him apart inside. But will Dawn offer the support that her ex so desperately needs – or will she struggle to find sympathy for him?
“Dawn does all she can do comfort Billy,” our insider adds.
“Even though they have just been to hell and back, Dawn takes the time to convince him that he’s by no means to blame for anything that’s happened – when it comes to Evan, anyway.
“It’s sweet to see that the two exes can put on a united front when it comes to their kids. Let’s just hope that things stay that way…”
Having been put at ease, Billy clearly feels much more at peace than when Evan was first taken in for treatment.
But with a tricky divorce on the horizon, will Billy continue to find solace in Dawn? And if so, could there be way for him to claw back his broken marriage?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday 1 May on ITV1 and ITVX.
