Coronation Street fans have said it’s ‘such a shame’ as they prepared themselves for an upsetting exit as one of their favourite character’s set their plan to leave the cobbles into action.
It was during Wednesday’s (April 30) episode of the ITV soap that Daisy Midgeley was left telling Jenny Connor of her plans to quit Weatherfield for good.
After her latest drama Daisy, played by Charlotte Jordan, is ready to embark on a new chapter at the other side of the world, leaving a void in the heart of Weatherfield and devastation in her wake.
As fans know, she has since been in cahoots with her mother, Christina Boyd, to get her hands on Jenny’s cash, with the money invested for her by her ex-husband, and Daisy’s dad.
They are catfishing Jenny with the help of ‘Dom’. Daisy, however, has been unaware that Christina plans to split the £60,000 with ‘Dom’ as she is actually seeing Jenny’s dodgy new fake suitor.
Daisy’s partner, Daniel Osbourne, found out about the catfishing and has issued her with an ultimatum – to come clean or they’re over. As Daisy was left to mull it over, Jenny revealed that she had transferred the money to Dom.

But Daisy was left shocked when she heard Christina talking to Dom in the Rovers’ back yard, realising that her mum was going to double-cross her and set about her own plan to make sure that didn’t happen.
It wasn’t long before the drama ensued and Daisy let her mum take the rap for the catfishing. Daisy found Jenny in a panic and she confirmed that the money transfer had been blocked due to a suspicious account. Daisy then dropped a hint about Dom and Christina, and it was enough for Jenny to work out that she had been being playing all along.
Jenny took to the mic in the pub, during Julie Carp’s bingo fundraiser, and confronted Christina in front of everyone. As DC Kit Green approached, Christina denied Jenny’s accusations. She was eventually arrested by Kit, but continued with her lies, saying she had absolutely nothing to do with Dom or the scam.
Back at the Rovers, Jenny was distraught but Daisy was thinking of herself and started to plot her exit. “I’ve decided it’s time I left,” Daisy told Jenny, who didn’t quite get where Daisy wanted to leave.

“Weatherfield,” she confirmed before Jenny was quick to respond: “Don’t let what your mother did push you away.” But Daisy insisted: “I’m not.” Jenny again reassured: “I don’t blame you for a second for what she’s been up to.”
“That’s great and I’m sorry for all of that, I am. But it is time that I left the car crash that is my life and I’ve got to start again somewhere else. So, I’m going to leave tomorrow and I’m going to be gone for good.”
And Corrie fans are sad about Daisy’s exit. @porridgeface said: “Really will miss Daisy, another sad loss to the programme.” @pjv_theoutcast commented: “She’s gonna be missed and since her debut on the cobbles, she’s been a part of some of the most memorable storylines.”
