EastEnders fans think they’ve worked out a devastating new storyline, and it spells upset for
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). Recent scenes have seen Phil fall out with his family over his
opinions of Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford), as well as push away other Albert Square residents that
care about him. Billy was left disgusted earlier this week when he discovered that Phil had framed Stevie for stealing Lola’s charity money. After learning that Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips) had stolen the money to pay back the school bully who’d been blackmailing him, Phil took care of the situation by confronting the bully and encouraging Will to let Stevie take the blame for the missing money. This of course angered ex-wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), and pushed Phil even further into her bad books. Taking to Twitter/X, Alessia wondered if this was ‘the beginning of a lonely era for Phil’, while Ryan asked if ‘this is the start of a loneliness/ relapse storyline for Phil’. Viewers will know that Phil is an alcoholic and has suffered a number of relapses over the years. Could he be set to go down the same path again?
