Coronation Street‘s Channique Sterling-Brown has shared her future ambitions away from the ITV soap.
The actor has been playing Dee-Dee Bailey since September 2022, and while she doesn’t have any current plans to leave, she has spoken about things she’d like to do whenever she does exit the Cobbles.
“I’d love to see more of the world, I’d love to learn to play a musical instrument and I’d like to live abroad something,” she told My Weekly magazine.
“Even if it’s just for a short while, it would be great to embrace somewhere new.
“And I’d love to play Lady Macbeth.”
In general, the actor said that she’d love to play roles that are quite different to Dee-Dee.
“It would be great to play a villain — just for something completely different,” she said.

“I love Coronation Street; it’s a wonderful place to work and such a pinch-me defining part of my career. It’s changed my life and I’ve learnt so much, but I’m still young and it’s such a big industry.
“I’d love to try out different characters one day.”
Dee-Dee’s recent storyline has seen her clash with brother James over baby Laila, as she’s realised that she does want to be a mother and can’t just give up her daughter that easily.
Next week’s scenes will see her go behind James’ back, risking a huge fallout between them.
