So far since Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) return to Emmerdale, the wool has firmly been pulled over Kim Tate’s (Claire King) eyes.
But oh boy is Kim about to see through the weave.
She’s been weirdly receptive to having Joe back in her life given their history, but she can’t shake a tiny hint of suspicion – enough to make her bug his room.
She wasn’t sure what she was listening out for, but had her laptop not been stolen by Charity (Emma Atkins), she would have heard something juicy – Joe having an affair with Dawn (Olivia Bromley).
Because she hasn’t heard them, Kim is still none-the-wiser to Joe’s devious ways. And though we’re not yet sure what the deviance is, there is certainly something fishy going on.
That said, our Kim is not daft, and Joe looks on course to run out of luck.
Kim still suspects something and checks the surveillance footage, and when she sees a visitor arrives the doubts about Joe seem to add up, but yet Kim maintains that he is innocent.
But there’s now a growing seed of doubt and it’s an itch Kim needs to scratch.
As the bugging didn’t appear to work, Kim concocts a new, much simpler plan.
She lays the groundwork by making Joe believe everything is hunky dory, then recruits Lydia (Karen Blick) as a spy. Supersleuth Lydia is entertained by the idea and signs up immediately.
Will Lydia be the one to destroy Joe Tate and whatever he is up to?
