Damon’s Firing Sets Up The Arrival Of Chicago Fire Season 13’s True Gallo Replacement

Jack Damon’s firing on Chicago Fire opened the door for season 13

to replace Blake Gallo with a beloved character. Damon joined the series

after Derrick Gibson unexpectedly left and has been nothing but trouble since.

He only lasted as long as he did because of the relationship between Damon and Chicago Fire‘s Severide, which caused Stella to be reluctant to document his unwillingness to follow her directions out of loyalty to her husband. However, after Damon’s ignoring her orders made a rescue on a speedboat more difficult, Stella could no longer stay silent.

Even after Stella reported Damon’s misbehavior, it wasn’t clear that he would be fired. Thanks to an assist from Mouch, Chief Dom Pascal decided to put Damon back in the floater pool — arguably the correct decision considering Damon’s record of dishonesty and insubordination. While Damon will not be part of the Chicago Fire season 13 cast moving forward, another character is returning who will be the perfect replacement for Gallo rather than continually causing trouble and unnecessary drama during rescues.

Damon’s Firing Means Kidd Needs A Truck 81 Replacement

Kidd Is Now Short A Firefighter Because Of His Absence

Chicago Fire’s Pascal did the right thing by firing Damon from Firehouse 51. Damon’s refusal to obey Stella’s orders put the crew at risk along with the people they were attempting to save, as he often took unnecessary risks while ignoring commands. Meanwhile, his continued lies were even more concerning. It also put Stella in an awkward situation, as she had to choose between loyalty to Severide’s family and the firehouse. This was particularly true because her husband couldn’t step in without being accused of bias. Thus, it was best for everyone that Damon be moved out of this firehouse.

While losing Damon from the crew might be a relief to Stella, it also causes a different source of stress. Without his presence, Stella is short a rescue worker. Thus, she must find someone to replace Damon on Truck 81 as soon as possible so that her crew has the best chance of putting out fires and rescuing trapped victims. Fortunately, Kylie is waiting in the wings to rejoin Firehouse 51, which would solve Stella’s problem now that Damon is gone.

It’s Time For Kylie To Join Firehouse 51 In Chicago Fire Season 13

Kylie Is Needed At Firehouse 51

Stella’s mentee has been a recurring One Chicago character for the past several seasons. However, a behind-the-scenes photo for Chicago Fire suggests Kylie will soon return to Stella’s roster. Stella needs not only a new firefighter but one who she knows will not cause her the kinds of problems that Damon did. Thus, it makes sense for Stella to reach out to Kylie at this point to see if she is willing to join Firehouse 5, even though in the past, she refused to do so.

Kylie may agree to help Stella temporarily, but that doesn’t foreclose the possibility that later she will change her mind and join Firehouse 51 permanently.

After passing the firefighter exam in season 11, Kylie chose to work elsewhere because she wanted to prove that she could carve her own career path rather than needing Stella to open job opportunities for her. However, several characters have not returned to Chicago Fire in the years since Kylie passed the exam, leaving Stella with openings that need to be filled. Damon’s firing means Stella has an immediate need for someone she trusts. Why Kylie Is The Perfect Person To Complete Truck 81’s Team

Kylie’s History Makes Her The Right Choice To Replace Gallo

Stella has had a hard time finding a permanent replacement for Gallo. Neither Gibson nor Damon remained with the firehouse for long. This time, she’d be even more in need of someone she could trust. Not only does Stella trust Kylie, but their mentor/mentee relationship has been strong over the years. Kylie is also used to taking orders from Stella and will never give her the kinds of problems that Damon did. Additionally, Kylie was Stella’s first recruit in the Girls on Fire program, which makes their bond that much more special.

Now that Kylie has got some experience under her belt at a different firehouse, she will be an exciting addition to Chicago Fire who can give Stella and the rest of Firehouse 51 the stability they need during a time of massive change.

Stella can’t afford to keep putting people on Truck 81 who don’t stay or who she can’t work with long-term. Her relationship with Kylie ensures that she gets someone on that truck who can be relied on in emergencies for a long time to come. Now that Kylie has got some experience under her belt at a different firehouse, she will be an exciting addition to Chicago Fire who can give Stella and the rest of Firehouse 51 the stability they need during a time of massive change.
