ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ who spiked Chas in shock twist – and it’s not Ella

Emmerdale fans believe they’ve “worked out” who spiked Chas Dingle in a shock twist, but it’s not Ella Forster.

After hurting her back in the tragic limo crash last month, Chas was prescribed painkillers to help manage the injury.

Earlier this week, Chas explained that she was still suffering from pain after Ella accidentally ran into her during her engagement party at The Woolpack.

Chas quickly cried out in pain and accused Ella of hurting her on purpose, given their messy history. Fans will recall that Liam Cavanagh ended his romance with Ella last year after realising that Chas was the woman he wanted to be with.

During Wednesday’s (March 19) trip to the village, Chas was seen taking more pills to help with her pain, as Liam urged her not to work if she was feeling poorly. However, Chas didn’t take his advice and ended up collapsing and hitting her head while setting up the pub.

John Sugden came to the rescue and quickly called an ambulance, with doctors later revealing that Chas had overdosed.

In Thursday’s (March 20) hour-long episode, Liam instantly blamed Ella after she appeared at the engagement party.

Victoria then confirmed that she had spotted Ella at the back of the pub, which led Liam to believe that she had swapped out Chas’s drugs for something stronger.

He went to confront Ella and found Chas’s engagement ring in her bag. He then called the police on the GP receptionist, who was subsequently arrested – but she continued to deny spiking Chas.

Later, Chas offered her love rival an ultimatum. She said that she would go to the police and drop the case if Ella left the village for good.

Liam Cavanagh is convinced that his ex Ella Forster spiked Chas out of spite

“I want a peaceful life, and that means you leaving… You either walk away or you get dragged off to prison. Your choice,” Chas warned.

Once Chas had walked away, Ella revealed to Manpreet that she thought that Chas had, in fact, become too dependent on her pills and overdosed herself, before manipulating Liam into thinking Ella had done it.

“If I thought someone had spiked me and put me in hospital, I wouldn’t be talking deals with them. There’s only one reason she’d be asking the police to drop the case, and that’s to cover her own tracks,” Ella said.

“She’s wanted me out of the picture for months. This is perfect for her. I can see right through it. Liam deserves better and I’m gonna make damn sure he realises. I am gonna make sure everyone sees Chas Dingle for who she really is.”

Emmerdale fans are convinced that John Sugden tampered with Chas’s pills

While some fans think that Ella could be behind the overdose, many others have taken to social media to explain why someone else might be framing her.

Emmerdale viewers are certain that John is trying to get on Chas’s good side, especially after hearing her reservations about his sudden engagement to Aaron.

“John has a sinister side… my money is on him. He’s seen as the hero at the moment. Right place at the right time with a witness too. Scoring brownie points,” one person wrote on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.

“John, he wants to get Chas to be grateful to him and change her mind about him because she’s got her doubts over his relationship with Aaron,” another added, while a third said: “I think it’s John he likes playing the hero.”

Meanwhile, other fans noticed that Gabby told Vinny not to give her drink to anyone else at the engagement party – which could suggest that something sinister was inside it.

“Why did Gabby say to Vinny she can’t give my glass to anyone else? Just didn’t understand why,” one person said, with another adding: “I think Gabby but not on purpose. Gabby said last night not to give her drink to anyone.”
