Coronation Street star Alan Halsall joked about his ‘date’ with one of his castmates as they ditched the cobbles for their latest boys’ night out.
The actor, who is best know for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, is a devout Manchester United fan and is often seen at the team’s beloved home of Old Trafford alongside fellow Corrie star and Man U fan Andy Whyment.
It was no different on Thursday night (May 8) as Alan and Andy, who plays Kirk Sutherland in the long-running show, headed to watch the Reds take on Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.
Substitute Mason Mount’s brace helped United secure a 4-1 comeback win, and a 7-1 aggregate triumph, sealing their place in the all-English Europa League final.
Ahead of the game, Alan took to Instagram with a snap of Andy as they enjoyed the hospitality options at Old Trafford. The soap star was beaming for the camera alongside a delcious-looking dessert.
Captioning the post, Alan wrote: “As if being my date wasn’t enough… Look how happy my big bro is with his brownie!!” adding a love heart eyes emoji and crying laughing emoji.

Andy reshared the post and said: “Absolutely delightful,” alongside a string of smiling face emojis. He also posted a selfie of himself and Alan in the stands and said: “My bro @alanhalsall. Come on United.”
It comes after last week, Alan shared a rare snap with his co-star away from the set of the long-running show as he joked he’d ‘taken the wife out’.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Alan and Jennie McAlpine, who plays on-screen partner Fiz in Corrie, could be seen making the most of the sunny weather as he said from near the soap’s set at Media City: “Lovely day at work and I took the wife out for lunch too [red heart],” before going on to add some crying laughing emojis.
Meanwhile, Alan recently returned to the UK after heading on a trip of a lifetime with his daughter. The soap star and 11-year-old Sienna ditched the UK for Thailand to attend a wedding.
But as well as the special occasion itself, the father and daughter have been having plenty of fun, with Alan sharing a number of updates online.
Reflecting at the end of the trip, Alan shared a photo of himself and Sienna on the beach as they held hands and looked out towards the water and said: “‘She may not remember every adventure, but she’ll always remember who held her hand.’ Looking back on incredible memories made in Thailand.”
