Coronation Street‘s Todd Grimshaw attacks shifty newcomer Noah next week, after Noah’s harassment campaign against Theo Silverton kicks up a gear.
After nasty Noah corners Theo during a romantic Bistro date with Todd and hands him a leaflet imploring Theo to attend a meeting at the community centre to “save his soul”, Todd’s enraged.
Storming into the community centre with Billy, he finds Noah practicing conversion therapy on a congregation member.
“Todd wants to shield Theo from the homophobia that has been drummed into him, so when he finds out about Noah’s harassment, he’s raging,” our Corrie source reveals.
“The encounter has left Theo torn between his true identity and his religious beliefs, so he flees to the community centre.
“When Noah won’t tell Todd where he’s gone, Todd just sees red – he goes for Noah and sends him absolutely flying. Unluckily, one of Noah’s cronies has videoed the attack…”
Prior to the incident, smitten Todd reveals to Billy Mayhew that Theo is finally comfortable with his sexuality and has been making big promises about them moving in together.
So when Billy overhears Theo tell his scaffolding pal about his “new girlfriend”, he can’t help but confront him…
“Everything Billy sees totally contradicts the progress that Theo’s supposedly making,” explains our insider.
“Theo’s excuse is that his friend is prejudiced and doesn’t deserve to know about Theo’s love life, but Billy’s not convinced. He knows how in love Todd is, and he doesn’t want to see him get hurt by Theo.”
Later, a police officer calls round to tell Todd that Noah has reported him for assault, so he’ll need to be questioned.
When he returns from the police station, Theo still insists that it’s time they get a place of their own. But could Todd be facing a future behind bars without his boyfriend?
