Coronation Street‘s Kevin Webster will be risking his marriage as he makes a promise that could lead to heartbreak.

Last week, Kevin received positive news from his doctors, who told him that his cancer had finally gone. However, instead of celebrating, Kevin decided to lie about his results to try to preserve his marriage.

Noticing the romantic tension between Abi and his brother Carl, Kevin told his wife that he wasn’t in the clear and required more treatment for his illness.

Abi – who had planned to take a break from her marriage if the results came back clear – was forced to stick by her husband.

In upcoming episodes, Kevin’s lie begins to unravel when Tyrone sees him ‘skipping’ his chemotherapy. When Tyrone urges his friend to continue his treatment, Kevin admits that the cancer has already gone.

Next week, the two mechanics continue to clash, with Tyrone wanting Kevin to tell Abi the truth. Kevin promises he will come clean to his family once they’re back from their weekend away.

However, the confession could lead to disastrous results for the Websters, given the fragile state of their marriage. Will Kevin’s desperate attempt to save his relationship actually drive them further apart?
