Gary Windass is a no-show at Liam’s birthday

Drama continues following a tense week on the cobbles for the Weatherfield residents. Next week, fans can expect Abi and Carl’s romantic tension to reach a new level while Kevin patiently awaits his test results. Dee-Dee struggles to obey James’ orders over Laila, while Steve finds himself falling for Cassie. Maria is concerned when Gary is a no-show at Liam’s birthday.
As Liam opens his birthday presents, he reveals he’s heard nothing from Gary and thinks that something must have happened. Maria fears he might be right.
As the family gather for Liam’s birthday tea, we see an unconscious Gary in hospital. When he takes a turn for the worse, a nurse rushes to his aid.

Elsewhere on the street, Kevin picks up Abi’s phone and sees a message from Carl stating he’d like to get to know her better. As Carl secretly mocks up another fake MOT certificate, Abi warns him to stay away from her as Kevin sees the last message he sent.
When Kevin arrives for work, Abi shows him a car that Carl’s been working on and points out his careless job. But when Kevin watches the CCTV, he’s shocked to see Abi tampering with the car.

Later in the week, Abi admits to Kevin that she’s nervous about his test results. When a breakdown call comes in, Abi’s forced to attend and Kevin heads to his appointment alone.
Finding Carl at the garage with his feet up, Abi’s furious but Carl is unbothered. He admits he can’t stop thinking about her and knows she feels the same.

Abi tries to convince him that she loves Kevin and she’s happy with her life. Meanwhile, Kevin meets the consultant as he awaits his lifechanging results.
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Cassie, Steve, Sally and Tim meet for lunch. Sally makes snide remarks at Cassie while Tim tries to keep the peace. As Sally and Tim gradually warm to Cassie, Steve states he can see himself falling for her.
Meanwhile, when Dee-Dee tells James and Ed she’s glad to have the support of her church, James makes it clear that Laila’s upbringing will be non-religious.
Dee-Dee retaliates by meeting up with Billy telling him she’d like him to baptise Laila, but Billy makes it clear she needs James’s permission first.
Dee-Dee assures James that she accepts his decision not to have Laila christened. However when she asks Alya to be Laila’s Godmother, Alya realises she’s pressing ahead with the proposed christening.
Elsewhere, Millie panics when Theo reveals that he’s off to see Millie’s teacher about her pregnancy. Todd tells Millie it’s obvious she’s lying and it would be best to come clean and an emotional Millie agrees.
Todd tells Millie to take a pregnancy test to prove that the first one gave a false positive and he won’t tell her parents. When Theo returns home, Millie announces she’s got something to tell him.
Later on, George finds Todd and Theo doing a plank challenge. When Todd reveals that James called round and Theo wasn’t best pleased, George is concerned. After a run, Theo gives Todd a massage which soon turns passionate, but they’re interrupted by the arrival of George.
Meanwhile, Bernie urges Brody to patch things up with his mum but Brody tells her that his mum is dead to him. Bernie drags Lou round and asks Brody to listen to her.
