Coronation Street has revealed Bernie Winter’s important role in the Brody Michaelis paternity storyline.
There has been speculation that Kit Green could be Brody’s real father for a while, and Kit recently organised a DNA test with the help of mum Bernie.
After receiving the results, a tense attempt to fight Kit saw a war of words escalate as Brody taunted his prospective father, before Bernie intervened and revealed the truth that Kit is indeed his dad.
Left in shock, Brody confronted mum Lou about the revelation, before she slammed Kit and Bernie over their actions and implored them to stay away from Brody.
In follow-on scenes airing next week, Bernie pushes Brody to make things up with Lou, though he declares that his mother is dead to him.

“Bernie has been keen to help Brody ever since she found out that Kit is his dad,” our Corrie insider said. “She sees so much of her beloved Paul in her newfound grandson so she wants to do everything she can to lend a hand.

In other news, Corrie is lining up a new stunt which could involve Brody, with recent filming pictures showing a speeding car that could spell danger for Fiz Dobbs.
