Chicago Fire’s Matt Casey Returns In Season 11 Set Photos

A new Chicago Fire season 11 set image reveals the return of Jesse Spencer’s Matt Casey.

It has been less than a season since he officially exited One Chicago, but the character is already

back at Firehouse 51. Specifics of his homecoming in the Windy City are scant, but a

new photo confirms that he has reunited with his old co-workers.Shared on Twitter by @caseysbrett is a screenshot of a behind-the-scenes image from Chicago Fire season 11, episode 18 that features Casey and Miranda Rae Mayo’s Stella Kidd. As previously reported, Casey returns in Chicago Fire season 11 in light of Kelly Severide’s abrupt leave of absence. Taylor Kinney requested some personal time off in the middle of the current year causing NBC and Wolf Entertainment to readjust the show’s storytelling.

How Matt Casey’s Return Impacts Chicago Fire Season 11 The reason for Casey’s return to Firehouse 51 is currently unknown. NBC and Wolf Entertainment wrote him out in a way that he could always come back, but it was not expected to re-incorporate him into the show this quickly. This is likely motivated by Severide’s ongoing Chicago Fire‘s absence since it’s unsure when he will return to the show. It has yet to be confirmed if Casey’s next One Chicago return will simply be a guest appearance or for an extended stint in the series.

His return will be welcome in light of Severide’s Chicago Fire absence. One thing is for sure: Casey’s return will bring some changes and even drama in Firehouse 51. Looking at the image, it seems like Casey is back in his old firefighting get-up. He will likely work with Kidd, who took over his spot as Truck 81’s head honcho. More than that, it’s interesting to see how this will impact Sylvie Brett’s love life especially since she just started dating again following their break-up earlier in Chicago Fire season 11.
