Chicago Fire’s Brett Replacement Is Great, But I Need Her To Return In The Future

Sylvie Brett is officially replaced in Chicago Fire, but I still want her to come back. After

a decade in One Chicago, Kara Killmer decided to exit the NBC first-responder procedural. It was

definitely sad, considering how big of a part she was to Firehouse 51. However, Brett

is also one of the few characters who got a happy send-off instead of a traumatizing exit, which I consider a win. She was written off after she decided to get married to Jesse Spencer’s Matt Casey, which meant that she would have to leave Chicago to join him in Portland, Oregon. Admittedly, I had a feeling that Brett was leaving when Casey proposed to her in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale. The couple had already broken up before, I thought that One Chicago couldn’t do it again after rebuilding their relationship. Unfortunately, getting married meant that Brett would have to leave Firehouse 51, since Spencer had long left Chicago Fire. Lo and behold, before the new season debuted, it was announced that Kilmer was departing. This kickstarted the long process of finding her replacement on Ambo 61, which ended up being Jocelyn Hudon’s Lyla Novak.

Lyla Novak Is A Good Replacement, But There’s More To Do With Sylvie Brett Sylvie Brett Is Always Welcome At Firehouse 51 It would be great to see Brett reunited with Stella Kidd and Violet. Finding a replacement for Brett wasn’t easy. The process even got new Ambo 61 paramedic-in-charge, Violet Mikami, in hot water with Chief Robinson. Novak was initially a floater who was supposed to only be at Firehouse 51 for a few shifts. Initially, Violet wasn’t sure what to make of her because of her carefree demeanor. But after proving herself capable, Violet was convinced that she was a perfect fit. I’m excited to see more of her in Chicago Fire season 13, especially after season 12 set up a possible romance between her and Jack Damon, Benny Severide’s son. As excited as I am about Novak, I will still need Brett to come back.

I know she’s happy in Oregon, and even goes by Sylvie Casey now after getting married, but there’s no shortage of reasons to recruit her again. Firstly, the paramedicine program that she started is supposedly still going, and it would be nice if she could check up on it. Secondly, it would be great to see Brett reunited with Stella Kidd and Violet. Their friendship was so beautiful. Perhaps Brett could come back when there’s a cause for celebration for either of her best friends. How Likely Is Sylvie Brett To Return To Chicago Fire? The Chaos In Firehouse 51 May Bring Brett Back To Chicago While Casey continued to return to Chicago Fire after Spencer’s exit, it was due to his unfinished romance with Sylvie. Now that they are married, there’s really no urgent reason for them to revisit the Windy City. The great thing is, Killmer has established that she is open to stepping back into the role of Sylvie. Given the changes to Firehouse 51, it may not be outside the realm of possibility that Kidd and Violet will reach out to her for some assistance. That being said, any kind of appearance for her will only be for a guesting stint.
