Chicago Fire set photos confirm the return of [SPOILER] in season 13

The talented ensemble is back to work on the new season.

Chicago Fire is officially back up and running. Production has started

on season 13, and just like we all hoped, the cast has begun to post set

photos on social media. There haven’t been any massive reveals with regards to plot, but the little pieces we have gotten thus far have confirmed what we wanted to see heading into the new season.

In particular, the involvement of certain characters. Daniel Kyri posted a photo of the two of his fellow cast members on his Instagram Story, and we were thrilled to see that one Jocelyn Hudon is back in the mix as Lyla Novak! The actress made her Chicago Fire debut in season 12, but there a period of time in which her character’s future seemed unclear.

Joceyln Hudon was spotted on the Chicago Fire set

Lyla Novak was a breath of fresh air last season, especially with regards to medics. Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) struggled mightily to find a long term replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), as she was overrun with saboteurs and and people who simply didn’t fit.

Novak was radically different than Brett, but her aptitude in the field was undeniable, and by the end of the season, Novak and Violet were friends. It was a beautiful to watch their dynamic unfold, and it allowed Violet to take on the role of mentor for the very first time. Unsurprisingly, Hanako Greensmith is the other Chicago Fire cast member pictured in Kyri’s IG post.

Hudon was previously a recurring character

Jocelyn Hudon was originally brought on to Chicago Fire as a recurring cast member, but Deadline announced that she would be upped to series regular in season 13. We’re excited to see how Novak interacts with the rest of Firehouse 51, especially given the brief moments she shared with her fellow newcomer, Jack Damon (Michael Bradway).

Chicago Fire loves to ship characters, or at the very least, plant seeds for potential romances down the line. It’s too early to tell if Novak and Damon have any sparks between them, but we’re sure to find out when the show returns.
